Senior Pastor
Rev. Donnie & Amanda Crump Jr.
We would like to welcome you to our website and we hope that you find everything you are looking for and more. Just to give you a little history of me and my wife we have been married for 25 years and we have been blessed with 3 wonderful children. I grew up in Union County NC. I am just a good ole country boy who loves Jesus and we are so blessed that He has called us into the ministry.
I was raised in church my whole life and was raised up as a Preacher's kid and saw the many struggles and trials that come along with Pastoring but also the great joys that it brings. I began to feel the call from God at the age of 30 to preach the gospel. I fought the call due to the fact that the enemy lied to me and told me that everyone will say you are only preaching because your Dad was a preacher, so I ran for several months and then one day we had a special group come to our church to sing and that night I did not want to be there. This is not like me at all because whenever the church door was open I wanted to be there. Well that night there were about 100 people there and during the middle of service the leader of the group stopped the whole service and pointed me out of the whole congregation and said "Young man God told me that you are going to do great things in the ministry" I have never seen this man before and they lived 2 counties away. He stopped the service and they all came down and gathered around me and layed hands on me and prayed. He had no idea that God was calling me and dealing with me. Then I felt someone's arm wrap around me and it was my Dad and he said " Son if that is not confirmation then I don't know what is." So that next morning I surrendered the call to preach the gospel.
I then began to work with the youth at Howie Baptist Church and would fill in for the Pastor when he was sick or away. I had already been serving as a Deacon since October 7, 2007. Then I was voted in later as the Associate Pastor -Youth Pastor and was ordained on November 15, 2009. Then God really began to work and move in my life and so did the enemy. He tried to destroy me and my family and tear us all apart. BUT GOD!!!
Then God opened a door for me to attend Bible college at Trinity Bible Institute. I am currently working on my Bachelors Degree and have my Associates Degree in Biblical Studies. I am learning so many things and have grown so much and me and family felt a move of God to join Trinity Baptist Church in 2016. After we joined Pastor Ricky Cope came up to me and said you are only here for training grounds. Little did I know that he and God saw what I didn't see. We stayed there for 1 year and then I began to help fill in for my Uncle (Rev. Kenny Crump) at Faith Baptist Church.
Then my uncle became very sick and he asked me if I could take care of the church for a few weeks and I told him I would. Well little did I know that the sickness got even worse and eventually took him home to be with our Lord and Saviour on March 13, 2017. So I continued to fill in until they could find someone to take the Pastor position. Well God had other plans and they voted about 2 months later they voted to keep me as Interim Pastor. Then God began to really burden our heart for these people and we were asked to pray about becoming Pastor. Then the Lord saw fit to open the door and we were voted in as Pastor with a 100% vote on June 4, 2017.
We are so excited to see what God does here at Faith and we hope that you will find something here and you will never leave the same as you came. I pray that you are blessed and we look forward to meeting you and your family and worshiping the King of Kings and Lord of Lords together. This is truly "A Place To Belong"
